CCS Update - May 26, 2022
Greetings Campbell County Families,
Below is my most recent update, providing important information about Campbell County Schools. I would like to invite you to read this information at your earliest convenience.
Graduation:
I want to start by congratulating our staff and students on a successful school year. I would like to wish our 2022 graduates GOOD LUCK as they move on and out into the world. Our seniors took part in several end of the year activities this week. One of my favorites is their senior walk back at their former elementary school. The teachers love to see them and the elementary students get to see the end goal.... A high school graduate in a cap and gown!!

Celebrating Our Campbell County Retirees:
Please join me in taking a moment to celebrate our Campbell County employees who will be retiring at the close of this school year. I want to thank these folks for their dedication and service to our students and community!! I would like to wish each of them all the joy and happiness that they richly deserve and good luck in all of their future endeavors.
This is a huge milestone!!!

Reading and Mentoring Program (RAMP):
We have an amazing experience available to our community called RAMP (Reading and Mentoring Program). 30 minutes per week of your time can inspire a primary student's reading ability and confidence to higher levels! We are looking for VOLUNTEERS! Please review the information on this google site to see how you can help. Please email myssi.turner@campbell.kyschools.us with any questions.
Campbell County High School Monument Stone:
The initial "new" high school build was completed in 1995 and students moved there from the former high school site at the current middle school in Alexandria. However, the high school monument stone has remained in the front yard of the middle school ever since. Our maintenance staff worked with the area technical center (ATC) staff to coordinate the move of the monument stone to a brand new pedestal on the high school campus, facing out to Old 27 from the athletic complex. Our masonry students from the ATC under the teaching direction of Mr. Porter worked with our maintenance staff to move, install and encase the monument. Although we are still awaiting the delivery of the capstone, the masonry students have completed their work as the school year winds to a close. We will finish the installation once the we have the capstone. I want to thank Sharon Alexander, our maintenance director and Dan Franzen, the ATC principal, and their staffs for their coordination to get this done. Below are a few pictures of the monument stone installation. Mr. Porter and the masonry students were kind enough to take a picture with me on Tuesday.

Check out the video below of the monument stone placement!!

I hope this information has been helpful to you.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
David A. Rust, Superintendent
